The Society for Companion Animal Studies was established to promote the study of human-companion animal interactions and raise awareness of the importance of pets in society. The Blue Cross Pet Bereavement Support Service is open from 8.30am - 8.30pm everyday. All calls are free and confidential from a landline. If calling from a mobile phone, some phone networks may charge. Support is provided by trained volunteers. The service does not offer a counselling service, but is able to offer emotional support and information for pet owners who may be experiencing the loss of a pet. The Guide Dogs for the Blind and Partially Sighted Association (known as Guide Dogs) is a charitable organisation founded in 1934. It provides independence and freedom to thousands of blind and partially sighted people across the UK through the provision of guide dogs, mobility and other rehabilitation services. The PDSA (People's Dispensary for Sick Animals) is a leading veterinary charity that provides free veterinary care to the sick and injured pets of people in need and promotes responsible pet ownership. The charity operates through a UK-wide network of 49 PetAid hospitals and nearly 380 PetAid practices (contracted private practices). Category: Charities
It is the aim of South East Dog Rescue to help save as many abandoned and unwanted dogs as possible by placing them in foster homes throughout the UK and helping them find forever-homes. They also provide a number of other dog services such as walking, sitting, boarding and home visits as well as microchipping and pet taxi/ambulance. Category: Charities
Dogs Trust (formerly the National Canine Defence League) is the largest dog welfare charity in the UK. Their mission is to bring about the day when all dogs can enjoy a happy life, free from the threat of unnecessary destruction.
